Mike Rhoades has accepted a five-year deal to become head coach at Rice.

Rhoades was most recently assistant coach at VCU.

Shawn Jones of Middle Tennessee State has been named Conference USA Player of the Year.

Joining Jones on the C-USA All-Conference First Team are Pablo Bertone, Chad Frazier, Kenneth Smith and Neil Watson.

On the Second Team are Vince Hunter, Tymell Murphy, Akeem Richmond, Julian Washburn and James Woodard.

Smith was also named Defensive Player of the Year, while Vince Hunter received Freshman of the Year honors.
